Where will you travel to?
Work well physiotherapy will travel to anyone within the locality of St Albans and its surrounding areas to include; Harpenden, Ware, Hemel Hempstead, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Hertford, Redbourn, Radlett. We will consider travelling to homes further afield than 1/2 hours travel from St Albans however, there may be an additional charge. Please enquire info@workwellphysiotherapy.co.uk

What does an initial assessment consist of?
An initial assessment will involve firstly a discussion around the issues your are experiencing followed by a physical assessment. This assessment will allow expert advice and treatment to be provided base on your individual needs. Advice my include considering changes in your working position and/ or your posture, specific muscle strengthening exercises or general advice around health and well-being associated to your presenting issues.

What do follow up appointments consist of?
Follow up appointments will consist of a review of the findings in your initial assessment and the effect any advice or treatments have had. Advice and treatment and exercise prescription my be altered and refined to continue addressing and aiming to improve your problem.

What should I wear?
The body part requiring assessment should be fully accessible in order for observation and palpation by the clinician. Any clothing should be loose fitting and/ or easily removable. Assessment normally involves comparison to the non painful side. For example if your right knee is requiring assessment a pair of shorts or a skirt that allows both right and left knees to be viewed is ideal.

Will I need to remove any items of clothing?
Assessment may require all or partial removal of some garments for a full assessment to be completed. This will depend on the body part. For example a t-shirt may need to be removed for shoulders to be assessed.
Patient consent is sought on every occasion, and friends or family members are always welcome to be present.

How do I pay?
You can pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer, including contactless, payable directly after each treatment session.

Do you accept medical insurance payments?
Payment directly from any medical insurers is not possible. Payment is in-person only and receipts will be issued for every payment received.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?
Please contact Work Well Physiotherapy by telephone or email at least 24 hours in advance.
Please note that the appointment fee may be payable if less than 24 hours notice is given.

What professional accreditation and insurance do you have?
I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC, registration number PH54350). I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (membership number 60748) and the specialist Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP - membership number 11477).
Liability insurance is through the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy professional membership.
